Advice for Entry

  • Shelter Essentials document contains 12 messages. Each message is explained on one page of the publication. Each page includes the message text and 3 case studies from different Shelter Projects editions. The case studies provide a sample implementation of the message in different contexts and should be a good resource for ideas on how to present the message.
  • Since the goal of the competition is to explore Shelter Projects and use it as resource for learning how humanitarian shelter sector functions, we encourage you to read more case studies than the 3 mentioned in the shelter essential page for each message and make use of the ones that seem to connect to the message(s) of your choice.
  • The competition is mainly about making a video after reading a shelter essentials message and the case studies related to it. We are not expecting participants to submit architectural designs of humanitarian shelters.
  • We know that last-minute submissions are students’ favorite 😊 Please try to submit your video(s) in advance to avoid any last-minute glitches and give us time to respond in case you are having a technical problem
  • Submissions will be accepted until 06 March, 2023, 23:59 local time Geneva.
