Nurto and her family were displaced to Dolow region due to droughts and conflit. They have been living in a mudbrick shelter unit built by IOM Somalia. The mudbrick model has been particularly successful in Somalia not just because they are more durable than other shelters made of tarps, plastic roofs, etc, but also more suited to the extreme weathers, they are cooler than other shelters during summer and warmer than other shelters during winter. © IOM 2024/Raber AZIZ
